After studying architecture in the 1930s, Miroslav Sasek began his career as an illustrator. While working with newspapers and publishers, he set his sights on a new goal—illustrated city guides for children.
His city guides became the “This is ______” children's book series, which began in 1959 and covers Paris, London, New York, San Francisco and others across 18 books. All titles are currently in print today. The prints shown on our walls are a collaboration between the Miroslav Sasek Foundation and Galerie Robillard in Paris.
